Legrand India creates LDCS to address data centre infrastructure market holistically
Digital Edge Bureau 07 Apr, 2021 0 comment(s)For addressing the data centre infrastructure market holistically, Legrand India has created LDCS (Legrand Data Center Solutions) as a specific entity that would combine the strength of its brands – including Legrand, Numeric, Server Technology and Raritan – that go into making new-age data centres. Keeping agility as the core focus, LDCS offers one-stop modular, scalable, and customizable solutions enabling performance and efficiency.
While Legrand as an independent brand offers electrical fittings & home automation solutions, Numeric deals in UPS systems that run modern data centres. On the other hand, Server Technology provides data center power distribution units (PDUs); while, Raritan is a well-known brand that specializes in the domain of data centre power management and KVM switches. Over half a decade of so, France’s Legrand acquired Raritan, Server Technology and Numeric to broaden its IT infrastructure offerings. The unification of these brands under the sobriquet of LDCS is a sensible decision of Legrand India.
“Data centres in India is growing at a very fast pace. We’re witnessing a growth of about 8.5 percent. Companies across sectors are accelerating their digital adoption. With our global presence, experience, offering and current portfolio of brands in India, we felt it is time to demonstrate our focus and support the data center market in India and make it future-ready”, said Tony Berland, MD & CEO, Legrand India.
Sanjay Motwani, Business Head, LDCS, said, “We’re not diversifying; rather, we’re bringing multiple brands under one umbrella in India. We can mould the latest technologies to the customer’s requirement. We intend to support companies to stay ahead of the curve. Our solution is designed for agility, which essentially means that it is a solution which can deliver what the customer wants, in a way that is flexible, fast and scalable. With the government sharing the cause for data center infrastructure development, there is more and more reason to believe that Legrand Data Center Solutions will have a compelling growth story unfolding for itself”.
The new entity, LDCS, strives to address all sizes of data centers, ranging from hyperscale to micro data centers. It offers a wide range of server and network racks, high-performance cooling solutions enabling optimum cooling in all conditions and a full range of 3-phase UPS solution. It also uniquely positioned to provide optimum security through high-performance PDUs and switches for any installation configuration, detection, control, and protection.
The LDCS aims to address a market size of Rs 3,000 Crore with its user-centric design and flexible infrastructure. It is well-supported by the Indian R&D and manufacturing capabilities and is poised to be the preferred choice for any industry segment. LDCS global clients include leading companies such as Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Colt and Equinox for data center solutions.
