Details
Traversing a long evolutionary journey, Compuage Infocom has metamorphosed into one of India’s top super IT distributors that addresses both enterprise as well as consumer segments of the market. In terms of revenues the company clocked an impressive Rs 4,500 Crore in 2018-19. The company is one among a handful of IT distributors, which started its operations in the late 1980s, when the Indian IT industry was just opening up.
Since its very beginning, the company has taken the route of solution approach. “At no point of time in the evolution of our company have we taken the box-pushing approach. We’ve always worked in tandem with our channel partners so that they offer best-of-the-breed solutions to their customers”, says Atul H Mehta, Chairman & Managing Director, Compuage Infocom Ltd.
So, in its broader role as India’s frontline IT distributor, the company providers value added services including technical assistance, marketing support, warehousing and credit financing to the entire channel-customer ecosystem. Compuage Infocom has been known for its investments in partner training programs to keep the channel fraternity updated with latest technologies. The company makes sure that it delivers products & systems on time so that solution providers and SIs don’t get adversely impacted.
Interestingly, the company keeps its OEMs abreast of its policy of extreme channel engagement, which of course, carries cost.
“Our vendors understand the costs and credit rendered by us in keeping our channel partners in good homour; and therefore, the margins are well aligned with this regime. Its our value added approach that attracts channel partners to us”, says Mehta.
The company has objectives outlined for 2021, where it aims to increase its brand portfolio to 50, and partner reach to 15,000. Compuage Infocom strives to achieve revenue of Rs 7,500 Crore by then. The company desires to become one of the Top-3 super IT distributors in India. The company perceives itself to be more than a traditional IT distributor.
