Kaspersky launches dedicated low budget security hub for SMBs in APAC region
Digital Edge Bureau 10 Oct, 2021 0 comment(s)Kaspersky unveils a free platform with tips and tricks for small businesses to help them quickly improve their organizations’ security. Kaspersky Cybersecurity On a Budget provides a set of short but actionable recommendations relevant for any company, as well as specific, but still easy to follow tips for different verticals and business needs. This includes data and communication protection, secure use of various digital platforms, website security and much more.
Small businesses need to carefully balance their expenses to keep going as the pandemic continues, even after restrictions are lifted. According to a new Kaspersky report ‘How small businesses got through 2020-2021: Budget cuts, product launches, and new investment priorities’, in more than half (64 percent) of all businesses in the APAC region, financial difficulties seen during the past 12 months will likely become permanent, so business leaders will have to carefully choose what to spend money on.
“At Kaspersky, we’re confident that by following basic rules, organizations can achieve an essential level of cyber protection in a short time and without additional resources. Be it a small construction company, a cafe or a marketing agency, the platform works for anyone,” says, Evgeniya Naumova, Executive Vice President Corporate Business at Kaspersky. “The pandemic hit small businesses hard, so finance and resources may be limited today. This is one more argument towards investing a few minutes to read and a few hours to implement recommendations that will then help to keep your business protected”, adds Naumova.
Chris Connell, Managing Director, Kaspersky (APAC), views, “In the last two years businesses have been impacted by cyberthreats more than ever before. And, unfortunately these threats were not limited to large enterprises alone, but instead SMEs became the hottest new target for cybercriminals all around. Small and medium businesses after the pandemic hit are now left with very less to almost zero funds to ensure that their cybersecurity solutions are in place. Keeping this in mind, we at Kaspersky have attempted to resolve this problem by introducing Kaspersky Cybersecurity on a Budget, especially for the small and medium enterprises that are fighting to save their businesses from cybercriminals across the globe.”
Chris further explains, “We also understand that the cybersecurity requirements of every business may vary from each other, which is why we have ensured complete accessibility and affordability on Kaspersky’s resources to every small and medium business that wants to stay protected from the potential cyberthreats.”
The research shows that this choice is often not in favor of cybersecurity. Almost half (64 percent) of small businesses struggle with funding for cybersecurity improvements even if they realize the importance of protection from cyberthreats. Kaspersky Cybersecurity on a budget should encourage such companies to fill the gap or check their cybersecurity readiness while staying on budget.
